Michael A. Vidafar, BA CHT 

President, C.E.O., Director of Education

Mr. Vidafar “Junior” has worked full time as the dedicated operational and safety strategist at one of New York State’s largest hyperbaric programs since graduating from Stony Brook University in 2011. He has also completed nearly five years worth of internships in healthcare administration, marketing and public relations, journalism, editing, and business management, all of which have helped to shape his extensive skill set and prepare him to offer a variety of unique leadership qualities to Omni Oxygen Solutions as its founder and C.E.O.

With extensive certification from organizations including the ASME, ASTM, NBDHMT, and UHMS, as well as education from renowned practitioners, pioneers, and leaders in hyperbaric oxygen therapy (such as the “Godfather of Nitrox,” Dick Rutkowski, Dr. George Hart, Dr. Peter Salzer, Dr. John Feldmeier, Mr. Francois Burman, BSc., Mr. Tom Workman, CHT-A) and the N.F.P.A. related to the safe practice and operation of hyperbaric chambers, Mr. Vidafar has been able to merge the clinical aspirations of hyperbaric programs with the intricate concerns pertaining to safe administration and practice in hyperbaric oxygen environments.

Mr. Vidafar has designed and introduced procedures used as standards of “best practice” in renowned health system. These policies and procedures include detailed emergency protocols during hyperbaric emergencies, as well as education materials designed to clearly introduce and promote hyperbaric oxygen therapy to both patients and clinicians.

In addition to his experience and education with hyperbarics, Mr. Vidafar is a current NYS Emergency Medical Technician who frequently applies his knowledge with hands-­on care to hyperbaric patients, and is a NBDHMT Certified Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT). Mr. Vidafar has used his experience and education to educate others, and is proud to boast the largest single-facility stable of NBDHMT/BNA Certified providers, with 6 CHT’s and 6 CHRN’s under his employ; many of whom he personally prepared for examination through his groundbreaking hyperbaric certification prep. course, Mastering Pressure.

Michael Vidafar, BSc, ASME

Director of Technical Application, Consultant, Chief Engineer

Mr. Vidafar is a Mechanical Engineer with over 30 years of experience working in the design, repair, operational function, and improvement of commercial and healthcare facilities throughout the country and abroad.

For the past 10 years, Mr. Vidafar has focused on the provision of his expertise related specifically to the design and operation of hyperbaric facilities alongside Dr. Salzer.

Mr. Vidafar has worked as a health care facility consultant at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, Mount Sinai Hospital, and North-­‐Shore LIJ Health System at Franklin, Plainview, and Long Island Jewish Hospitals.

Additionally, Mr. Vidafar is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (A.S.M.E.) and possesses a wealth of knowledge relating to the installation and operation of hyperbaric chambers, as well as detailed technical expertise relating to P.V.H.O. code, NYS DoH/Building Code, and hyperbaric chamber design.

Mr. Vidafar continues to work closely with members of the N.F.P.A. and
A.S.M.E. to ensure national standards for safety, occupancy, reimbursement, and operational efficiency in hyperbaric facilities are met.

Hector M. Ortiz, RN CHRN 

Director of Clinical Coordination and Nursing

Mr. Ortiz is a Registered Nurse and Clinical/Nursing Coordinator working for LIHS. He has been practicing exclusively in the sub-­‐surgical specialty of wound care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy for the past 36 months.

Additionally, Mr. Ortiz is the Nursing Manager and Clinical Service Coordinator at Plainview Hospital’s Hyperbaric and Wound Care unit, where he acts as a departmental representative, serving as an active member of several hospital committees in addition to his patient care responsibilities.

Mr. Ortiz has overseen many departmental and hospital-­‐wide initiatives aimed at improving patient satisfaction, clinical care, and ancillary services to Plainview Hospital and its patients, and continues such initiatives.

His background includes extensive administrative experience in medical and emergency transportation, as well as clinical experience in emergency medicine as a practicing New York State Paramedic for over 20 years.

Mr. Ortiz is responsible for the clinical oversight and leadership of at all of LIHS’s managed facilities, both within the North-­‐Shore LIJ System, and in the greater New York Area.

Stephen M. Vidafar, BSc.

C.F.O., Director of Marketing and Safety

Stephen Vidafar has an extensive background in finance, engineering, and marketing, and has been working closely with Omni Oxygen Solutions’ leadership team for a decade, helping to create and publicize facilities, as well as devise budgeting and cost distributions at various hospitals.

Stephen has extensive project management and coordination experience, which has helped him over a career of various environments, including clinical settings, construction oversights (including the World Trade Center), and educational institutions.

Stephen holds certified by the American Society of Mechanical Enginering in PVHO-1, and has taken courses from the American Society of Testing and Materials in Oxygen Hazards and Safety in addition to his extensive chemical knowledge of material compatibility, acrylic care consistent with ASME PVHO-2 standards, and hyperbaric oxygen safety.

 

 

 

PellizziDiane Pellizzi, BSN RN CHRN CWS

Director of Operations and Quality Assurance

Mrs. Pellizzi has over thirty years of clinical nursing experience in both hospital and home environments. She has extensive administrative experience to supplement her excellent clinical skills. In addition to her BSN, Diane holds certifications as a Certified Wound Specialist (CWS), Public Health Nursing (PHN), and as a Certified Hyperbaric Registered Nurse.

Dr. Glass is President-Emeritus of the Nassau County Medical Society.

Dr. Glass is one of Long Island’s most esteemed surgeons and physicians whose brilliant career has spanned over 40 years of practice at hospitals including South Nassau, Plainview, and Nassau County Medical Center, where he practiced general and vascular surgery. He has served on the Board of Directors for Nassau County’s field whatever, and is known and respected by everyone who comes into contact with him.

Dr. Glass currently practices for Long Island Hyperbaric and Wound Care Medical Associates, PLLC, and provides ethical direction to Omni Oxygen Solution on matters concerning clinical and business practice as needed.

Dr. Salzer is the Medical Director of Plainview Hospital’s Hyperbaric and Wound Care Program.

Dr. Salzer is the current Medical Director at Plainview Hospital’s Hyperbaric and Wound Care Facility, and has worked as a practicing vascular and general surgeon in the Long Island area for over 30 years, as well as the founding partner of Long Island Hyperbaric and Wound Care Medical Associates, PLLC.

Dr. Salzer’s career has included over 30 years of general and vascular surgery, as well as a further 15 years of practice as a wound care and hyperbaric physician and program director.

Dr. Salzer has the distinction of being one of only (about) 600 physicians in the U.S. to have received A.B.P.M. Board Certification in the surgical specialty of Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine, and has founded wound care and hyperbaric programs at two Long Island hospitals, and is a faculty member at  both the NSLIJ/Hofstra and Stony Brook University School of Medicine.

Dr. Salzer also works as an active member and facility surveyor for the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society (U.H.M.S.), who are responsible for regulating the worldwide practice and administration of hyperbaric oxygen therapy.

Dr. Salzer provides guidance and medical direction to Omni Oxygen Solutions, Inc. as needed as an independent advisor, and is a non-voting director.
